Forgot Santa!!!

While doing the post last night, I had some technical difficulties... First we couldn't get the blog to save, so I lost it all... Then while looking through it today, I realized that we forgot SANTA!
We visited Santa's Cabin while at Pleasant Valley tree Farm and the boys had their first chance to tell Santa and Mrs. Claus what they wanted!

I was almost certain Aiden would be scared...

But actually her was curious. He was doing a back bend to see whose lap he was sitting on ;)
Aiden seems to be quite proud of how tall he is this year...
While Ashton always has a puzzled look on his face.
How tall are they when they are put together? Poor Aiden on the bottom!

It will be interesting to see how tall they are next year. So what did the boys tell Santa they wanted? If we only knew... Daddy told Santa that he wants a full night of sleep!
Sorry we forgot about Santa! Two posts this week...

We are Thankful

We have a lot to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving! We are thankful for two HaPPy and HEALTHY boys named Ashton Alan and Aiden James. We are also Thankful for the Family and Friends that help us. Without every one's help, we could not do what we do! I am also thankful for carpet and softer landings. A sight we see hundreds of time in the day is this... two boys pulling themselves onto something or each other. With that comes many, many, many falls! They are getting more brave and confident and I swear sometimes Ashton forgets that he can't walk and will try to anyway! Thank goodness we put carpet down for some softer landings!

We did our usual stops for Thanksgiving this year. We were down to Nate and Katie's for the Packer game and our first meal. After eating, the littlest butt got the nicest chair... how does that work?

Ashton loved finding new things to pull himself up on. It's exciting that he is getting more confident to find other things than people. It's annoying being a constant human jungle gym!
After my Brother's we head to Eau Claire to the Rueber House. Missy and Dave host both sides of their family. It's nice to on;y have to go to one place and see everyone!
The boys also LOVE playing with all of Elle's cool toys! Something we haven't tried before now is the ball pit...
Aiden James
Ashton Alan

Notice Elle's priceless "Cheese" Face... i think Ashton is taking notes ;)
Aiden James already developing bad driving habits... Eating french Fries while driving. Thank goodness they are fake and we really have 16 short years before really going through panic attacks!
Aiden wasn't so sure about the Dino though...
Again, horrible driving habits. Driving with one hand on the wheel... 10 and 2 Ashton!
We have stairs that we hardly ever use... but with the toys being downstairs and all the adults upstairs... it didn't take long for Aiden to find the stairs. It also didn't take long for him to find out that he can go up them...
Monkey see, Monkey do. Ashton was right behind him!
As Adam is spending weeks prepping for the start of the Black Friday sales (waking up at 2am) and the Holiday Season, the ladies are out supporting the economy. A tradition started about four years ago, we head to St. Paul and hit some boutiques along Grand Avenue and a few others. We find treasures that are more "wants" than "needs." Mikayla joined us for her first time, and hopefully will join us again! Nana already has it on the calendar for next year! For some reason, I spent more money this year and didn't buy anything for myself ;)
On Sunday we headed to Pleasant valley tree Farm for the tree. It was a bit cold, so we bundled up the boys! Aiden was so bundled, he couldn't move. ***Idea - maybe if we bundle him up like this at home, he will also feel like he can't move! They even brought their own saws to help Daddy cut the tree!
Gramma and Grampa with the three luckiest Kiddos!
Do you see the light shining down on this tree? The Boys' FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE!
Is there enough room for presents under it?

We have the tree in the house but not decorated yet... I am thinking we will get the boys used to a big tree in our living room before we light it up and make it all pretty! Maybe they won't be so interested in it?!?! They are doing great with the "no touch" so all the decorating will be done once they are in bed, so they don't see us touching it as well. Monkey See, Monkey Do! Hopefully we will have it decorated by next week's blog... Another successful tree hunt and spending time with family and friends this Thanksgiving. We are Thankful for many, many things.

10 Months!

Today is the Boys' 10 Month Birthday!
There is no better way to spend a Sunday than watching the Packer's Win.

Aunt Elly bought the boys a Thanksgiving present... NEW PACKER SHIRTS! I think it was supposed to be a Christmas present, but she wanted the boys to be able to wear them now... Thanks Aunt Elly!

Trying to change the channel to find the game?!?! Their favorite toys right now are remotes and cell phones. Buying them all the fake ones in the world that light up and sing... they don't care. They want the real ones that they are not supposed to have ;)

We had company for the game. Missy, Elle, Gramma, and Grampa came to help cheer and order Ted's Pizza. Grampa had some opportunities to teach Ashton how to signal a TOUCHDOWN!
and another!
As mentioned last week... The boys are EVERYWHERE. Izzie's 'house" is one of the favorites for Ashton to be.
As you can probably tell - we have had a non-newsworthy week at home and it was great! I officially got rid of Halloween in the house and welcomed Christmas. I am slowly transitioning as I felt since we do not host Thanksgiving, we can skip the decorations in our house... We are also doing a slow transition so the boys have some time to get used to being told "no" and "no touch"!! I have a smaller tree in the kitchen on a table so they can look, but not touch and we got the tree up in the basement for practice before we bring the official Christmas tree home next Sunday. That one will be in the upstairs living room, where most of our time is spent. I am just praying that they boys stay out of it!
This week brings the boys' FIRST THANKSGIVING. I am looking forward to the shorter work week and spending some extra days with the boys. Adam is looking forward to kicking off the Holiday Season with Black Friday! Ok, maybe not looking forward to starting his day at 2 a.m. but he looks forward to the day and he runs on adrenaline.
We have so much to be thankful for. We have the best families and friends and we are THANKFUL everyday for our two little boys and Nizzer too!

The pictures tell the story!

We were so excited about the Halloween post last week, that we forgot to talk about some milestones that the boys have hit. This week, the pictures will help tell the story...
It is nearly impossible to get much done anymore as... both boys are MOVING! In order to get supper done, I now have two helpers in the kitchen.

Pots, pans, the strainer and wooden spoons are the CooLesT toys right now!

No more knifes in the dishwasher! Ashton heads straight for the dishwasher when Adam is loading it, he will be a great helper someday!
Need any help cleaning out the fridge? Ashton and Aiden will help...
Ashton will pull himself up on anything and everything. He gets so confident and thinks he is such a big boy! One day I was feeding Aiden and he was quiet in the living room... I went to check on him and he had pulled himself up to stand and walk along the couch. I still am wondering how he did it as out cushions are not the easiest to grab. When we are on the floor to play, Adam and I just become a cool jungle gym to climb all over ;)
A few weeks back, we lowered the crib mattresses, knowing this day was not too far off! They do not sleep together, but imagine walking into the room to this after a nap! They are so PROUD. It is SO CuTe!
They are exploring the house with more of an Army Crawl than a regular crawl. Part of what is holding them up is they are constantly getting in each other's way, fighting, and getting tangled up!
Aiden isn't very tolerant at all of his brother always using him as a tool to pull himself up onto things... he SCREAMS!
How precious is this next picture? Daddy-Daycare-Day... the boys were gazing at their first glimpse of snow. Yes, they were born last January but this is their first look at snow. It melted before they could go play (and wasn't very much) ;(
Did I mention that the boys are now getting into E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G? Izzie's water bottle isn't safe, neither is her food! This coming weekend will be BABY-PROOFING...
How did Ashton get into this predicament? Stuck.

The look on his face shows his annoyance with Daddy... "Come on Dude, get me out of here and stop taking pictures!"
Friday night we went to visit Gramma, Missy, Dave and Elle. The boys LOVE playing with all the different toys! Ashton especially liked the magnet board.
The first "TUB PICTURE" with all the cousins! I think all there were wondering why so many people were in the bathroom watching them take a bath?!?!
After bath-time, it's bed-time. Ashton got quite comfy on Uncle Dave's lap. We tried talking Uncle Dave into a sleep over with Ashton, but he wasn't interested. We also tried leaving Aiden behind for the night, but they busted us with that too!
And again, in the kitchen helping with the nightly chores. Ashton thinks the strainer makes a good pillow...

"MAMA" is Ashton's FIRST WORD! He has been saying it for the last week for sure... and is even starting to say it as he is crawling towards me. Just today he is also saying "pa-pa-pa" as he looks at Izzie (coincidence)?!?! Maybe he's saying PaPa for Grampa? He has also said "Na-na-na-na. Could that be Nana? To make Adam feel better we are also working on "Da-da-da". On the other hand, Aiden just yells and sings very LOUD. He'll say "mamama" but it isn't as deliberate or on it's own.
This week we hope to take down the fall decorations and make our house look like Christmas... decorating may be a bit difficult with two busy and mobile boys! Would it be weird to put the Christmas Tree on a table, or have a fence around it? We have a couple weeks to come up with a plan, but I am already dreading keeping the boys out of the tree! Maybe we'll put it on the deck and look at the pretties through the patio window ;)
