9 Months and Pneumonia

The last couple weeks have been some of the longest weeks that we've had in awhile! We have two nine month olds on the move, I had parent teacher conferences, and we've had pneumonia and bronchitis. That may sum up our last two weeks! The last post was the Pumpkin Patch and I referenced Ashton getting sick with many pictures of his droopy eyes. He started with a dry cough and it kept getting worse. On Tuesday (Oct. 18th), I stayed home from work and took him in to the doctor. They treated him for bronchitis and some spots in his left lung that sounded like pneumonia. Every kid needs pink medicine at some point right? He did well with the pink stuff, but NOT the oral steroid. I tasted it before having to give it to Ashton... it tasted like poison! Good thing it was a one time deal...
Still not feeling the best (notice the slouch and the droopy eyes) they turned NINE MONTHS OLD! Thing 1 and Thing 2 are busy little boys!
Ashton: Though not feeling the best, Ashton was the first to start "army crawling".
Content watching his brother scoot in circles around him, Aiden winning the race in the teeth. He has 6 teeth (4 top and 2 bottom).
******DADDY OF THE YEAR AWARD******
On Tuesday night (Oct. 25th) I had parent teacher conferences from 4-8pm. We had scheduled the boys' 9 month appointment in August so Daddy had to take them to their appointment all...by...himself! He got many comments about how brave he was... Ashton and Aiden were champs getting their flu shots. Daddy said he cried more than the boys did ;)
Ashton: 20 pounds 5 ounces, 28.5 inches tall, and 18" head
Aiden: 19 pounds 13 ounces, 29 inches tall, and 18 1/4" head
It was nice having the check up a week after Ashton was sick as he got a clean bill of health. BUT, a day before the check up Aiden then developed a quite nasty cough. After listening to his lungs, they treated him for bronchitis and pneumonia just like his brother. Like I said before, doesn't every kid need the pink medicine at some point?!?!?! What worried me is Aiden had more more noticeable wheeze in his chest and had a temperature that Tylenol wouldn't touch AND he spit out his oral steroid. After a long day and a half waiting for him to get better, it seemed he was getting worse, so back to the doctor we went. They did another steroid and this time tried a nebulizer. It seems to loosen up his chest and stopped his wheezing!
So.... home we came with our own personal nebulizer ;(He's a trooper and doesn't mind it at all. We did this 4 times a day for the first two days and then stated to wean him off, as it affected his sleep and made him jump off the walls! Many sleepless nights and long days later... it seems like both boys are healthy again and let's hope for not getting sick again this season! Aiden still has a little purrrr in his chest, but I just call him our little kitty-cat. :)On Sunday we went to Eau Claire to go Trick-or-Treating at Elle's house. OK, not really but we took her a little treat and the boys got some treats as well! The boys got some books, snacks, and the CuTeSt little monster bags!Gramma also dropped off some Halloween goodies for the boys, but I'll share those pictures next week as they boys were in their costumes ;)
Ashton does the silliest thing with his tooth brush... he puts it in his mouth and lets it hang out while he plays. He is doing this more and more with putting things in his mouth and just chilling with it... Goofy.I said earlier that Aiden was content watching his brother scoot all over. NOT ANY MORE... he is on the move as well. In the last couple days, he is keeping up with his brother... DOUBLE TROUBLE.Ashton even likes crawling over his brother. He is also pulling himself up on Adam and I. He doesn't quite trust himself to pull himself up on the furniture, but very soon! This is a cute picture of Aiden... this morning they were all over the house, exploring. Yes, that is Ashton on top of him in the background! I'm surprised to see the smile on Aiden's face as he usually hates Ashton touching him...Let's hope this week includes rest, full nights of sleep, no more pink medicine, and no more coughs!
Next weeks blog will be all about HALLOWEEN and Trick-Or-Treating with the two cutest little _______________ ever!

Pumpkin Patch

Last week I commented that the Wamboldt Family was dealing with a cold and some new teeth. I was thinking it was done, but it seems like it wants to linger just a bit longer. Aiden continues to have a runny nose and Ashton has quite the little cough. I think it's also safe to say that we will be getting new teeth weekly between the two! Aiden is working on another on the top and it looks like since Ashton's bottom two came in, he is also working on about three on the top. Poor little boys! While Aiden had Ahton beat on the teeth, Ashton has Aiden beat on the hair. So much so, he has quite the bedhead some mornings and after naps ;)

With the weather getting cooler, we are bundling up and still trying to get in our walks. It is going to be a long winter without our walk times. Either that or expensive because we'll walk at the malls!
The MoNsTeR Hats are funny...

It was too cute... the boys were all smiles until they looked at each other. They must have sat there for 15 minutes trying to figure out what was on each other's heads!

We took our two PuMpKiNs to the Patch this weekend. It was a bit windy, but otherwise a beautiful day to meet Cousin Elle at Pleasant Valley.

Nana bought the boys some Halloween shirts. Aiden's says "Boo" and Ashton's says "Who's Hiding the Treats?"

Poor Ashton not feeling so well... Many droopy eyes in today's pictures ;(

The first thing we did at the Pumpkin Patch was SwInG!

Daddy and his two boys... all wearing their puffy vests. How much longer before we cannot hold both?!?!?!

With Dad's help, they tried the slide. Aiden still trying to tell his brother that he has a silly thing on his head!

There was a petting zoo there... and this cute little pony. Adam thought that Elle should have went home right away and put one on her Christmas List.

Elle gave Ashton a ride on the tractor. I think she was asking him where they should go...

We saw the pumpkin launcher shoot a pumpkin... on a day that isn't so busy, they'll crank it up and shot pumpkins over the hill you see far away in the background! I missed the launch because I was looking at the boys' reaction to the loud noise... they didn't even flinch!
More hay! This time Ashton could pick his teeth with it because he had mittens on... so he just hit at it :)

***COUSINS***

Can you spot the CUTE PuMpKiN in this picture?
How about this one?

The three CuTeSt pumpkins at the patch!!! I honestly think it will be a couple years before we can hold all kiddos still, looking at the camera, and smiling!

We had a great day! Next year the boys will be able to do a lot more and we are already looking forward to taking them back. It's crazy to think that the next time we will be back at Pleasant Valley is to get our Christmas Tree in November/December!

We LoVe the FALL!!!

Have I said that the FaLL is my favorite time of year? It's not that we are looking forward to the long, cold winter... but we LoVe the fall colors, the cooler weather, digging out our sweatshirts and jeans, the apple orchards, and football games (just to name a few of our favorites)! We have been very busy enjoying our fall.

As the boys continued to be Mikayla's #1 fans, she ended her volleyball season this past Tuesday on a high note. They beat Rice Lake and played some great volleyball. It was so fun to get the boys out and watch the team improve with each week.

Since the last time I blogged, we have also had our first bug work it's way through the family. We were so diligent last spring to keep the boys healthy, and we are not complaining... they are two VERY healthy boys! However, we have had our first cold. Well... most of us. Aiden got the sniffles, my head and chest felt like they were going to explode, and Adam spent a day or two fighting the body aches and head cold. Ashton on the other hand - stayed healthy! It's a good thing that Ashton stayed healthy though because he was cutting his first TWO TEETH!!! He had not been one bit crabby, no fever, no rashes... nothing. Within the past week and a half, we have been sick, Ashton has two teeth, and Aiden has his two front teeth (totaling four teeth now)! You would think that alone would keep us busy enough, but NOPE. We celebrated HoMeCoMiNg, went to the apple orchard with cousin Elle, helped cheer on cousin Mikayla, and hung with Gramma and Grampa.

We were excited to celebrate Menomonie's Homecoming the end of September. After quite the voting process, the mascot has been changed from the Menomonie Indians to the MENOMONIE MUSTANGS. Daddy surprised me and ordered the boys their very first Mustang Gear. On Friday night, I came home from work to get the boys and head to the parade. This is the boys were sitting in the living room in their cute gear (Ashton 01 as he was the first born... Aiden 02 being the second born).

I L.O.V.E the football hats!!! The boys got these as a gift at one of my baby showers in April (thanks Joni and Stacy)!

It's been awhile since the boys have had hats on and I guess Ashton doesn't like them. ;) Once he has it one and forgets about it though, he's fine.

We were excited to take the boys to their first parade. I have e feeling there will be many more and lots of candy involved in the years to come!

The fire truck was LOUD!

Aiden could have cared less about the parade... he wanted the leaves that were by him! such a cute picture though, just waiting for it to start...

I think the other football hats were MUCH CUTER.

After the game, we go to Ted's Pizza. We were a bit nervous carrying on this tradition this year and debated to go to the restaurant or go home and order... We went and had pizza in the dining room with TWO BUSY BOYS!

Nana took the boys home to visit Aunt Debbie and get to bed, while Adam and I met some friends at the game. Menomonie beat Rice Lake 36-6 (or something like that).

The same weekend, we met Missy, Dave and Elle in Eau Claire to go to the Apple Orchard. The boys first had to try the apples to see what kind we wanted to pick!

After we decided what apples to pick, Elle had to decide what rocks to pick...
Ashton helped carry the apple bag...

Ashton also picked some grass while dad was picking some apples.

Aiden was a great helper... picking leaves.
And eating leaves.

After the apples were picked, we went on a hay wagon ride. Ashton made the sound of a tractor the entire time and would.not.take.his.eyes.off.the wheels!

Last, we tried for a picture... probably should have done this earlier in the day. They were D.O.N.E.

and trying to eat the hay ;)
October 4th is Gramma's Birthday and we had to CeLeBrAtE!!! Gramma, Grampa, and Elle came over last Saturday to hang out and celebrate. Gramma got a new sweatshirt that she will wear ALL YEAR ROUND!

The boys also got a present from BUCKY'S locker room.

Thanks Grampa! Both of Adam's parents graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and they have a pretty good football team ;)

Grampa is VERY BRAVE trying to get all three grand kids on his lap! Elle came already wearing her new shirt... the same size as the boys :0 (18 month)

Uncle Adam wanted to give Elle her first ride on the mini bike... and she liked it!

Elle also liked playing the the golf clubs... she needs to keep practicing so she can go with her Daddy soon!

The rest of our time has been spent spending every last minute outside in this nice weather!
And playing... what else are two boys going to do? Grampa taught them the trick of turning their play mat upside down to create "a fort".
Aiden has tried (and LOVES) mac and cheese...

Look at his face when Daddy let him eat his mac and cheese in the living room, while watching Toddlers and Tiaras... don't even get me started on that show...

Speaking of bad habits and eating in the living room, YES Ashton is still spitting his food and Daddy got silly one night and decided to play with Ashton's food also... The funny thing is that Ashton has no idea! Maybe another habit created this past week was a treat in the bath. When we had the bug going around our house I got some pedialite freezies and it's the perfect little bath time treat to hydrate and cool off some sore gums from teething. The best part... it melts into their bath water and they come out clean and not sticky! I remember my cousins getting their popsicle treats in the bath time too (Alex, Chase, and Kylie)!!!

In all the busy times, treats, baths, parades, and supper times... we still don't forget about another very important part of the family... Isabelle (Izzie). She has been really trying to interact with the boys recently. She brings them her toys and wants them to play with her. someday they will get it and be the best of buds.

Keeping the busy fall going... we're taking our TWO PUMPKINs to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. No - they will not be pumpkins for Halloween, but I do have their costumes! What will they be?!?!?!?!
