Spring Break 2013

This will be a short blog, sharing mostly pictures of our trip to Mexico.  I found that I don't care to take many pictures, unless I am taking them of two little boys.  It is easier taking pictures with people in them!  Adam and I left the boys at home with Nana for the week while we got some much needed rest and relaxation with Adam's business partners, Char and Gerry.
The boys were pretty lucky to be able to spend the entire week at our house with Nana and Kayla!  They had some fun nights planned - they hosted a couple dinner dates with Nana.  The Glenwood "Ladies" came over on Wednesday night and Nana's friend Donna came to play with them on Thursday night.  That's all we heard about when we would facetime each day... "Ladies are coming!"
We returned to the Secrets Capri Resort in the Riviera Maya.  We have tried a couple different resorts and this is one that we had gone to three years ago.  We were looking for something a bit smaller than where we tried last year.  Breakfast everyday on the patio...
Where we spent most of our days.  OK - ALL of our days.

Our room was right off the pool, which was nice!
 Mojitos... Yummmm.
The ocean view from our room and the pool.
We are spoiled by the beaches in Jamaica and Cayman islands, so we didn't spend much time at this beach. Don't get me wrong it was still VERY NICE!  Better than the snow banks around here.

Staying connected... reading a couple emails, but mostly just relaxing!  The best part of each day was facetiming with the boys.
We showed the boys our daily visitor and they thought it was a meerkat.  We are not for sure what it was, but we were told they are native to Cozumel Island and were once on the endangered list.  It was a cross between a raccoon, a monkey and an ant eater... A Kodais?  Not sure how to spell it.
Off to dinner with Adam's HUGE beer from the fridge ;)
A couple nights, they brought the markets to us... right at the resort.
 Our last night.

All Inclusive, amazing food and drinks = weight gain!!!  I didn't want to be taking pictures of all the food ans presentation, but these desserts were pretty cool.  The flowers are chocolate drizzles.
See.  Adam even put his finger through it so we wouldn't think it was a painted plate ;)
Business Partners.  Last dinner before heading back to reality, the cold, and back to work on Monday.
The all adult vacation is always nice, but we sure do miss the boys!  We can't wait to have them in the pool, and on the beaches with us.  We went snorkeling one afternoon and both agreed how much we can't wait to take the boys.  They would think all the fish would be pretty cool!  Maybe we need to take two vacations each year... one for the adults and one for the families  ;)

Think Spring!  It is just about here...

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I am losing count of how many weeks in a row we have outside - snow pictures!  On Monday, we had a two hour delay of school... thank goodness it wasn't another whole snow day!  Once we got home for the day, we played outside.  Daddy built them a snow fort.  They called it a 'snow fence' and 'house'.

Ashton was pretty proud of his snowball...
Both LOVE to eat the snow...
I read somewhere that many times as kids look back on their pictures, they don't have many pictures of them with mom, because mom is always the one taking the pictures.  Many mother's don't want to see themselves in pictures... but when the boys look back on our memories, I want to be present and have them see me sharing the great times with them.  *Note to self - get better at handing off the camera and jumping into some pictures!

What the boys typically look like when we get home from Bonnie's.  On the couch, with their animals, having a fruit snack and watching...

MICKEY MOUSE!  This is their new favorite.  Thankfully it is available 'On Demand' with Charter Cable, so we can cue it up anytime ;)
CHEESE FACE ALERT!  When do the cheese face pictures stop?  For their two year old pictures, the boys are pretty straight faced because when we tell them to smile, this is what we get...

Friday night, we had Megan and Debbie over to celebrate MEGAN'S BIRTHDAY! Good thing she had two little friends to help blow out the candles and sing Happy Bert-Day.
 The cake was yummy!
On Saturday, Gramma and Grampa came to visit and stayed the night.  Ashton had fin showing Gramma how good he is at ALL of his puzzles.  He would sit all day and put puzzles together!
I put Daddy and Grampa to work hanging the Boys' names above their beds.  If there is a job to be done, Aiden isn't too far behind!  Hammer too... Hammer too... Hammer too...

Popcorn time!!! Even Izzie gets ready for her popcorn time.  Spirit (Horsey Movie) is a recent favorite.
The boys DO NOT go far without their animals.  Nana started with the animals at Bonnie's that the boys would talk about and I think she makes it her mission to bring a new one each time she sees the boys.  Grampa and Gramma also now enjoy finding one's they don't have yet... they got the water buffalo this weekend along with a beaver, a peacock, an antelope, a bunny, and a Clydesdale.  Am I missing any?!?!  Horsie's are their favorite right now along with any that have a "mommy and a baby".  The animals even 'watch; them watch supper...

 Cheese Face again...

Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Even though we don't have a bit of Irish in our blood, the boys were decked out in Green most of the weekend... (They even have their shirts for next year already - Thanks Aunt Debbie!
 Aiden is still Cheesing it...
Adam and I are off to Mexico with some friends.  We are very fortunate to have Nana staying with the boys while we are gone!  We will miss the boys but will also enjoy the sun, rest and relaxation as this will probably be our last trip we take without the boys.
With more snow in the forecast, it may feel like we will never have Spring.  Maybe this is the last week of snow-fun pictures?!?!
