Fall means FOOTBALL!

On a week I thought there was nothing really to blog about, it turns out we did a lot!

First off let's talk about Aiden being POTTY TRAINED!!!!  I don't know how it even happened, he pretty much trained himself but he has been dry since last Wednesday.  Two weeks ago I had to run an errand after work so we were in the grocery store and he was doing a potty dance.  I wasn't too concerned about it because he was wearing a diaper and we haven't been working on training.  Tuesday the daycare said he had stayed dry and was using the potty.  Tuesday night was also a huge milestone when he pooped in the potty (very first time) and he has wanted to ever since.  Then Thursday they said the same thing, so we tried big boy undies on Friday and he was successful!  Same for Saturday and today.  Yahoooooo!  Now Ashton just needs to get interested.  He thinks he gets the jelly beans when his brother goes in the potty.  We are on the right track with Ashy, he'll go when we ask him to, he just won't stay dry in between.

One of the nights I went to pick up the boys from Bonnie's they were doing chores.  I turned around and saw two brave boys in a sea of chickens.
Yes, that is Ashton grabbing for one.  He will pick them up and carry them around.
I think it scares Bonnie a bit just how brave the boys are with them and the chickens don't run away either...  I hope one doesn't peck them!
Friday night we went to support the Menomonie Mustang Football Team.  They are undefeated in the season and haven't let anyone score on them yet.  The boys love watching for Brigs on the sidelines as he is a waterboy.  Ashton also watches for all the "tackles".  We made it to the third quarter this time before getting too antsy.
After halftime, we had to move a bit closer to the action.

The high school team was great, but on Saturday morning watching Brigs... that was the BEST!  These two little boys talk about Brigs and Blais everyday.  Part of Aiden going potty in the "big boy potty" is because Brigs and Blais are big boys.  ;)
Watching from afar on the sidelines, someday buddy... someday.
Goofing around with their own footballs on the sideline.
It made their day when Blais and his friend played with them for a bit.  Blais would kick the ball "way high" and they would run and run to go get the ball.

After the game, we went to McDonalds.  The boys continued to surprise me with their bravery.  The don't usually play or climb in the play area because they get scared and intimidated, but this day they were monkeys.  They climbed all over but stopped short of the "big slides".

I didn't take any pictures, but Saturday afternoon we headed out to Jake's supper club for a fun filled afternoon of music, food and Puppies!  We supported the local Humane Society with Aunt Katie and Uncle Nate and Mikayla.  The boys loved the "Dance Party" with the band and seeing Debbie and Marcy too!

Saturday night we had a bonfire with our neighbors.  Daddy and the boys had to try out a S'more before everyone got there.
Actually they prefer just the chocolate and marshmallows.

I bought some "Got Milk" milk straws for the kidlets.  It is a magic straw that flavors the milk to strawberry as they drink it.  Yummy.  Actually I knew it was the only way to get a still picture of all three of them in the frame ;)  It was a beautiful night with some great people, some yummy snacks, and fun conversation!
Gramma and Grampa really found a good one.  We read Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site e.v.e.r.y night before going to bed.  Tonight Daddy caught us in action.  I just about have it memorized and the boys are starting to be able to read it to me!  So fun.

Goodnight Dump Truck.  Goodnight Excavator.  Goodnight Cement Mixer.  Goodnight Bulldozer.
Good night Ashton and Aiden!

We are ready for another great week and we have some Fall Festivities planned for the upcoming weekends!  I love, love, love Fall - however we don't even want to think about the season that follows Fall.

First Day of School

This week marked a milestone... The First Day of 'School'!  These two little boys are excited to start the "Time for Twos" program at our church.  They go Monday and Wednesday morning for two hours.  The first day, the parents stayed with them and the second day this past week Adam was to leave for an hour.  He felt bad they didn't even want to say 'bye'!  Aiden looked for him once and told us he cried, but other than that - they L.O.V.E.D it!  Every night as we put them to bed they ask, "Doing tomorrow?  School?"
I wasn't able to be home for the first morning of school - looks like Daddy had two little cheese balls...

Holding hands... in certain situations they look for each other for comfort.  *Never mind the garbage behind them ;)

The second day of school, the were pretty impressed by the HUGE truck parked outside.  "When I'm big, I drive one of those!  My love it."
Ashton Alan wants to be a football player when he "gets bigger".
Aiden James wants to drive a big, huge excavator when he "gets bigger."  He then changed his answer once he heard his brothers... "Play football too!"
Celebrating the first day of school with Dairy Queen after supper.

The nights are getting too busy with getting home, trying to fit in dirt play time, supper, baths, and bedtime!
Do you see all that green?  Yes, that is our front yard.  All of Adams hard work is paying off.  I don't think I have ever seen someone so excited to mow the lawn this past week!
The boys are loving school - and loving wearing their backpacks!  They insisted they wear them to ride their 4 wheelers.
"My going to school, be right back! Okay?"

Break time up the road... riding 4 wheelers is tiring!

 Monkey see. Monkey do.

Aiden helping water the trees and bushes... in his back pack.
I am not sure if the boys don't really fit in their firetrucks anymore... and they definitely don't fit with their back packs on.

Playing Frisbee with the "packs" on...

On Saturday morning we bummed at the Oakwood Mall and wanted to check out their new play area.

The scouted out the "quarter rides" and Nana was the first ever to show them that they moved if you put money in them... grrrrrrr.  We made it two and a half years before they knew that those rides would move with money ;)  I was playing stupid saying I didn't have a quarter.  Never mind the fact they cost 75 cents to a dollar!  Back in my day - it was only a quarter!

Gramma and Grampa got them all set for Packer Games this season with a Matthews and Rodgers jersey... so they insisted on having these helmets we saw at Scheel's.  Once they were tried on to see if they fit, there was NO putting them back or taking them off for that matter.  They were quite the sight wearing them through the mall!  I usually don't give in to fits in the store, but we half went looking for the helmets.  All we need now is a blonde wig for Ashton to be Matthews for Halloween and some scruffy facial hair for Aiden to be Rodgers ;)
A Halloween costume that will get years of use.  The jerseys and helmets have slept with them the last two nights as well as at nap time...  They also made an appearance at the Stout Al House for lunch with Nana, Uncle Nate, and Katie after church.  They thought it was pretty cool with everyone cheering for the Packer's!
Some other random pictures I found on my phone from the week... there were times I should have been taking other pictures, but I just didn't feel like having the camera with me at all times!  You understand, right?!?!?
Two Stylin' Dudes that are growing up too fast!

Go Pack Go!
Until next week...
The A Team.
