8 Months

Ashton Alan and Aiden James are 8 MONTHS OLD!!!
These two 8 month old boys L.O.V.E their bath time so much it was fitting enough to take their pictures in the tub. With the weather getting cooler outside, we are spending our free time in the tub. All summer long, when they got fussy and we were in between naps and eating we would load up in the stroller and walk. This week our walk time has been spend stripping down and jumping in the tub for some play time. It may be a long winter with these two busy boys...

So what have these two busy bodies been up to?!?!?!

Ashton is sitting on his own and exploring the house by rolling all around. He scoots, creeps, and rolls as he is beginning to discover the crawling position. He will be fully on the move in no time! Ashton just got some new sneakers... a size 4! He is wearing 9-12 month clothes and will most likely be in 18 month for the most part of the winter. Ashton likes most all fruits and vegetables and is just starting to eat 'puffs' without gagging. He has started to think he is cute when he spits out his food. It is really hard to say NO in a firm way without smiling while he is sitting there spitting his food out with the biggest smile on his face, but we are trying! Ashton has had some great nights sleeping the entire night. Every night he sleeps through, we find him on his tummy and moving ALL OVER his crib. Ashton is falling behind in the teeth game. He has yet to get any teeth! We joke that his brother will be eating steak while he still gets his baby food. ;)

Baby brother, Aiden James isn't too much different from Ashton. Aiden sits entirely on his own, but doesn't roll around exploring as much as his brother. He isn't as tolerant to being on his stomach and doesn't have much interest in crawling. He is more vocal and likes to yell. I would say he has a great 'outside' voice. Aiden is a great eater and hopefully he will not be copying his brother's new trick (spitting out his food). Aiden hasn't had as many nights of sleeping all they way through, but I think we can blame it on the top teeth he is working on. They look very sore and for his sake and ours... they need to poke through SOON! Aiden looks quite a bit smaller than Ashton, but is in the same size clothes. However, his new shoes are a size smaller (3). Aiden has just a bit more petite features when compared to his brother. At their 6 month appointment just 1/2 inch ans 2 ounces separated the boys. A informal weight check on our scale shows about a pound difference now and a noticeable height difference (Ashton seems taller). We'll see next month at their 9 month check up!

Mikayla had another home game this past week, so we went to cheer her on. It's amazing how much better the team gets with just a week separating their games. I don't even recall the last time I really held both boys together... they are getting so big! Mikayla must have muscles!

Aiden gave her a "hug" right away when she held him. He loves his cousin!

Ashton just likes EVERYTHING in his mouth right now... but he will give kisses.

The boys we so well behaved, we stayed a bit after Mikayla's game to watch the Varsity team. After one match it was getting past bath time and bedtime, so we left. Menomonie ended up loosing to Memorial in 5... so it would have been a late night had we not left early!
On Saturday night, Gramma and Grampa came and spent the night with us. We usually try to keep they boys up, between dinner and bath time, but Ashton enjoyed the snuggles just a little too much!

Grampa was enjoying the snuggles too!

As mentioned earlier, the boys got some new sneakers! Daddy was shopping online and found their first pair of NIKES. They are so adorable! It looks like Ashton and Aiden should be running around and heading off to kindergarten when they are wearing them ;(

Yes, Aiden's are a size smaller and even came in a smaller box :) At least when Ashton out-grown his, Aiden can still wear them!

Something else new this week... taking care of the pearly whites! They boys both got a new Thomas the Train toothbrush. Ashton uses his too even though he doesn't have any pearls to brush...

Daddy-Daycare Day was spent with a walk. I LOVE hats and with the cooler weather we like to cover the boys' ears. These are some newborn hats from last spring! They look pretty dorky. I cannot wait to go shopping for some fall and winter hats!

The leaves are turning beautiful colors, the weather is getting cooler, I want to make apple crisp, we are thinking about our Halloween costumes, AND Homecoming is this week! Fall is my favorite time of year... HaPpY FaLL.

This past week was REALLY S-L-O-W news week! When I went to download the pictures this week I was actually surprised to see some on the camera (thanks to Daddy taking pictures on his Daddy-Daycare day)!

There was just a whole lot of hanging out at the Wamboldt House. The boys are noticing each other more and more each week. Ashton is always interested in what Aiden is playing with and will often times try to steal his toy. Aiden is content letting Ashton have his toy and loves to sit back and watch Ashton play.

They attempted their first sleep over. Aiden wanted company in his crib after waking up from a nap. With someone else in his crib, the relaxing after a nap didn't last long.

They think it's pretty fun playing in their beds. I can only imagine what nap time will look like and sound like in the months to come!

Neither are crawling yet. Neither really have any interest... that may be because they can get where they want to go by ROLLING! They will roll all over the living room floor to get where they want to go. This includes to get to each other and wrestle!

On Thursday night Gramma, Aunt Missy, and Elle came to visit. Capturing a picture of these three busy kiddos is getting more and more difficult!

I'm not sure what secrets Elle is telling Aiden... but he looks pretty interested.
Aiden was telling Gramma stories.

In last weeks post, I shared some pictures of Izzie playing with the boys and staying away from the boys. Looking through the pictures this week, it's safe to say that being near Ashton is safe... when he's sleeping!
No Apple Orchard this weekend... icky weather when we were going to go. No rush, maybe soon! On Saturday we went to Mikayla's volleyball tournament in Hudson. I forgot the camera, but it was a nice day. Mikayla and her team had made improvements since just the last time we saw them! The boys like people watching and looking around at all the new environments. AND they probably don't mind all the attention they get from the High School girls ;)

Have a great week!

Mikayla's #1 Fan

The BEST part of this week was going to Mikayla's first home game! Sadly, I am no longer coaching 7th grade volleyball... as it would have been too difficult with the boys (I cannot wait to get home to them after work) and coaching would have interefered with making it to Mikayla's freshman games. On Tuesday, the boys put on their Menomonie shirts and we were off to cheer! Aiden cheered and was proud of his cousin...

Where's Ashton?!?! All the cheering wore him out. He fell asleep amongst the cheering and the whistles!

There wasn't much going on the rest of the week, so we hung out at home. The boys are noticing Izzie more and more, and she knows exactly how close she can get to them and how far their arms will reach. She likes to play with blankets and will play "Blanket Rough House" with Adam (she attacks his hand under the blanket). It was too cute when Ashton was playing "Peek-a-Boo" and she started to play the blanket game with him. He was giggling and giggling!

This is an example of knowing just how close to get to Ashton. If anything, it will push the boys to start crawling... so they can chase her. Oh Izzie... find your safe place now!
She also knows just how close to get to Aiden. She has gotten too close and they get a hand full of hair! The stare down...

Izzie thinks if she brings a toy to Aiden, he will play with her...
Aiden takes the toy. He thinks it's now his. She moves in too close. Aiden gets a hand full of hair... and Izzie decides the safest place is BEHIND Aiden!
To get out of the house, we went to the park a couple times over the weekend. They boys LOVE to swing. We keep telling dad that we need swings at home. Maybe next spring!

We are doing all we can to entertain the boys... bathtime and bedtime are slowly creeping to earlier into the night as they are getting more active and more tired! To pass the time at night, we play... Ashton attacks his toys...
They sit on the floor and play toys (and pose for pictures)...

Love this picture of Aiden!

Aiden watches "TV" in bed... until I heard him cry in the middle of the night and upon checking up on him, I found it on top of his face :( No more watching "TV" in bed!

and... They ride in laundry baskets. How come it looks like we have to entertain Aiden more than Ashton?!?!?! ;)

***Notice the cute little "Oshkosh" overalls in some of the pictures... They are adorable and a gift from Great Aunt Amy (Adam's Aunt) at their baptism. Thanks Amy!!! Looking back through this post, they are in most ALL the pictures... must have taken most of the pictures all in the same day! :0

Our nights are busy by the time we get supper for the boys, supper for us, walk/play, bath time, and bed time. It makes the weeks fly by. We look forward to the weekends to hang out, play, and spend time together! Apple Orchard and Volleyball tournament next weekend... WE CAN'T WAIT!

Two Boys in a Bath

The boys are officially "sitters" this week. Before they were a bit unsteady, but in a matter of days they are strong and steady! They love to sit in the grass and pull at it (they haven't gotten it to their mouths yet) and they like to sit and face each other and play with toys. Aiden gets quite interested in what Ashton is playing with and will just sit and watch, while Ashton is interested in what Aiden plays with... and steals it from him! Most of the time Aiden doesn't really care, but sometimes he will cry. Let the fighting begin.

Being able to sit better makes bath time more fun! They can both sit and play for awhile... they love their bath time books!

Ashton on the left... Aiden on the right.

Aiden got his first bubble bath this past weekend. He has a bit of a rash on his face and neck from all this drool and spit. I threw him in the sink to get him clean before putting on some cream. We thought we would try bubbles for the first time... this is what you get when you try to look at the bubbles too close! ;)

So might ask "Why the boys need nightly baths?" Because they look like this after my Aunt Debbie feeds them... Haha. I wonder what they had for supper?

On Saturday night we went to Jamie and Aaron's for a birthday cook out. HaPpY BiRtHdAy JAMIE!!! Her two boys (Blais and Brigs) play hockey, baseball, and football. Not too long after we got there, Brigs had a hockey stick for both boys and was ready to play! I have a feeling Ashton and Aiden are going to have some good role models and mentors to look up to in the years to come!

While taking a break from teaching the boys some moves and saves, Brigs tried out Aiden's chair. :)
Ashton was playing goalie... or the guitar. One of the two!

Just his size.

I don't know where Ashton learned how to "Fake Cry" but he does it ALL THE TIME! He will try to get mad, try to cry, make this face... and yell! We can't help but laugh and that makes him even madder!

While Ashton learned to fake cry... Aiden has learned to "Fake Cough." He will cough and if you tell him he has a bad cough, we will continue to make himself cough. Sometimes he forgets how he made the noise so it comes out as more of a yell. He will do it to get your attention! What a little stinker.

If you tell him he has a bad cough and we better have a doctor look at it... he smiles! Also... look at those Big Boy Jammies! Nana went shopping and bought the boys some new jammies. They are 12 month but fit them! The boys look like such big boys without the feet in their jammies and no snaps or zippers! Thanks Nana...

It was a bit of a slow news week as I was back to work and we enjoyed one of the last weekends of summer! Bring on the Fall weather with jeans and sweatshirts, visits to the apple orchard, and pumpkin patches! We will leave you with three of our favorite little faces... Have a great week!
