State Dance 2014

You will probably see more pink and glitter in this week's blog than any other blog!  On Saturday we headed to La Crosse to cheer on the MDT (Menomonie Dance Team) at the State Competition.  It was a day of fun and a season of hard work for Mikayla and the dance team.  It was exciting as the weekend before they won Regionals in Division 1 Kick and Division 2 Pom!

Go MHS DANCE!
Are any of these trophies for Menomonie?!?!?!
While waiting for the judge's to tally the scores, some state colleges performed for the girls.

Time to all get on the floor for awards!!!

They announced Pom first.  We weren't in the top 5 ;(
Isn't Mikayla beautiful?  She has one more year of dance as a high schooler!
Waiting for the results can be nerve-wracking!

Division 1 Kick awards... wait for it... wait for it...
5th Place!  They were so excited.  They just started performing their kick routine a couple weeks ago!
Ya-whooooo.

 So excited!

 Way to go girls!

While I was in La Crosse, Adam and the boys were hanging having a "boy day" and went ice fishing.
Brooke and Nate have the annual Fish n' Fire.  Brigs was there to show them how it's done.
Little did the boys know, this was the bait and they didn't actually catch a fish.

It was pretty cold, so they didn't stay out long.  They had a blast though!
Earlier in the week, we joined some family at the Super 8 for some swimming and pizza.  Paula and Doug were up from Florida and it was great seeing them and swim with Megan and Debbie!
Another picture I found on the camera this week... two big boys eating some cereal on the couch.
We just hung out tonight and watched the Superbowl.  To get things started, the boys insisted on standing for the National Anthem.  ;)
Even though the Packer's weren't playing, they NEEDED their jerseys on!
After some dancing to Bruno Mars at halftime, we settled down and went to bed!

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to the Mikayla and the Menomonie Dance Team.
I could never dance, the boys may or may not ever dance, Adam has some dance moves, but my favorite person to watch and cheer on is Mikayla.

It's February.  Maybe we can start logging some warmer temperatures.  I feel like once January is done, there is a end in sight for the winter.  Bring on spring... is it too early to be saying that?
Happy February.  We are so done with January!
