First Haircut

I celebrated my Birthday the end of March, and Adam couldn't have found me a more perfect card... The front said, I thought I would get you what you really wanted for your birthday... some rest and relaxation. Then to the inside -

I was spoiled a bit and among some of the things I got, the boys NEEDED to try out my new bottle... for my bike.

We knew the day would be coming soon... so onto the FIRST HAIRCUT for ASHTON. It has been so full and curly and I dreaded cutting it but - after picking him up from day care one day and having it hang in his eyes, I knew it was time. So I called Estillo and Marie squeezed us in! I also knew it was time when a lady at the chiropractic office commented how cute my twins were. Then she asked if one was a girl and one a boy?!?!?! Then... out neighbor asked if that is how we told them apart, by giving one a haircut and not the other!

During... notice the sucker (eventually COVERED in hair, but Ashton did not mind... YUCK)!

About a total of 10-15 minutes later... Nice Job Marie! Not too much off, don't want him to be grown up looking quite yet. I think Grampa was expecting a buzz cut ;)

Such a big boy, now waiting for Gramma to get her hair pretty. Liked the chairs that spun!

I was nervous to cut his curls, afraid they would not come back... Not to worry, they sprang up even better after the next bath with his hair being a bit shorter and not weighted down. Aiden got spoiled too... he got to stay and play with Elle, Grampa, and Aunt Missy for a little bit. I don't even think he knew we were gone.

Brooms and Books

With the nice weather this spring we have been spending most waking minutes outside. The boys love it... and so do I. I can only imagine what our entire summer will consist of! The title of this post pretty much sums it up. If there is a broom in sight... anywhere... Aiden is in HeAvEn. Daddy's garage is one of those places. Kentucky Fried Chicken is another place. If I want to have a peaceful meal while out and about... I will just have to find someone willing to sweep in Aiden's area and he is mesmerised.

Ashton has no clue what his brother sees in the brooms, he prefers the trucks and BOOKS!

Daddy is walking silly imitating the boys are their ever so steady feet. We do a lot of truck walks, wagon walks, Burley walks, and walk walks around the neighborhood!

We also LOVE to walk around the yard and check (shake) the trees...

Aiden sandwiching himself into the one and only spot in the living room he is not allowed. He thinks he needs to check the cables in the back of the TV.

Cleaning day. Aiden had found our broom inside and he is AMAZED.

The boys have been toddling more and more and it seems like in a matter of a day, they went from being unsteady to trying to run. Aiden's feet couldn't keep up with him while heading down the driveway... he left some skin on the driveway ;(

Did I mention that Ashton loves books? "Buh... Buh... (everything seems to start with a "B". Even his shoes are "boos")

Both will be running in no time and it seems like each day they are attempting to say something new. Some popular words in the Wamboldt household are --

Aiden:

"BYE" "HI" "More" "Mama" "Daddy"

"Izzie" "Shhh Shhh" (Sweep, broom) "Baaa" (Sheep)

Ashton:

"Boo" (shoe) "Bath" "Baaa" (Sheep) "Buh" (Book)

"More" "Milk" "Mama" "Dada" "Nana" "Done"

I am sure I am forgetting some...

Spring Break to the Dells!

It feels like the story of my life... always trying to get something done with NO TIME! But - I have about four blogs ready for narration and ready to be posted. So in true fashion and to keep things rolling, the words will be brief and pictures will speak louder than the words.

We CANNOT BELIEVE we were thinking about attempting a trip to Florida for Spring Break! In January we finally decided we would be biting off more than we could chew and planned a shorter trip to the Wisconsin Dells with the boys. This required no air travel, no sun block, and only three days. Whew, we still needed a vacation after the vacation! Chula Vista, Here comes the Wamboldt's. We rented a minivan, yes a minivan to get us all there (including Nana and Mikayla). Can you special request for hotel room's to be baby proofed? Because if it was there and not supposed to be touched - they found it!

Within a matter of minutes, Aiden dismantled the tissues and after several attempts to put it back together, it stayed dismantled until we left.

Ashton thought his swim outfit was pretty cool...

And we tried the water. Ashton has always liked it, and had no problems testing out the fountain. The problem was keeping him in the water because this all-the-sudden-independent boy wanted to walk all over with no help and continued to run towards the bathrooms, restaurant, and first aide office.

Aiden wasn't too sure about the water at first. I though it was going to be a long three days with him standing here... but eventually he warmed up to the water.

Their favorite spot... fighting to be IN the night stands.

How to you get ready for check out AND keep the boys entertained? Give them ride of course!

We have a feeling we will be back yearly. As the boys get older they will be able to do more and more! Maybe we'll try Florida in a year or two...

Baby Lambs and Birthdays

A spring field trip that many kiddos are lucky to go on would be to a farm and see the baby lambs. Well, we don't need to take the boys anywhere else than day care to see lambs, baby goats, and chickens... EVERYDAY! Meet Zeke.

Zeke was born with a twin, and unfortunately, both the mom and the twin passed away, so Zeke got be in in the house to be taken care of. He is bottle fed every three or so hours ( with a lot of helping hands) and wears a diaper when he is in the house. Ashton and Aiden don't help by tearing at the diaper...

Too cute, when you drop the boys off and they tear right into playing and don't even pay attention to the fact a lamb is nosing through the blocks they are playing with!

Onto more Birthday Celebrations! We have many friends that were pregnant the same time as us and who have little kiddos... so we decided to celebrate some birthdays all together. It will be fun watching everyone grow together, and some year when and if they are all in school together, starting these memories are well worth the chaos of having a baby birthday party for 4 one year olds! Happy Birthday Caz, Ashton, Aiden, and Reese (Maybe next year they won't all be just learning to walk and literally in all different places... so no photos!)

The party was hosted by Nate and Brooke (Reese's parents). It was definitely a full house and a great time. Ashton liked the balloons and was playing with Jackson. Jackson will be one at the end of March!

Loved riding in Reese's wagon as the night died down. Just about bedtime... Thanks Reese for sharing your rides!

The A Team

This and That

I feel like all I am doing lately is "catching up"! We have been busy, but I do have to say that we haven't really done enough to be blog worthy on a weekly basis... So this blog will catch up with what the Wamboldt's have been up to with a little bit of this, and a little bit of that.

Most nights after supper, we head downstairs to play with their "big toys". Spring cannot come fast enough so we can use some of these toys outside! Both Aiden and Ashton L.O.V.E their Cozy Truck. It's nice that both can ride in/on it so we eliminate some fights. Yes, FIGHTS! As of recently they always want what the other has, and it isn't good enough that we have two. They want the ONE that the other has. If one touches the other, they retaliate and it usually ends up in biting, scratching, me separating them, hitting, and "getting away" crawling. It also happens in the bath tub with one wanting to help wash the other's hair, but that means touching each other and that ends up in a fight. And so it begins.

They love their wagon, but we just don't have the room to really "ride" in the basement. Again, Spring cannot come fast enough.

This past week has brought back many memories of the boys officially coming home from the hospital. Last year we celebrated our Two Year Anniversary at the A & W in Baldwin while on our way to visit the boys. This year we celebrated our anniversary at home with the boys and I had parent/teacher conferences ;(

Last year we hung the boys' valentine's in their hospital room, this year we all had chocolate cupcakes!

They were so good, Aiden insisted on sharing (the boys are really into sharing... they hand you everything and want you to take a bit of whatever they are eating). They even sometimes share with each other! Sometimes. It usually ends in a fight or tears.

We are struggling trying to find table foods that Ashton will eat. Needless to say, he liked the cupcake, he loves yogurt, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, crackers, veggie sticks and baby puffs. Other than that, it ends up on the floor.

The boys were home with Daddy on Valentine's Day and with this Day Care thing being new... we were surprised to see these cute valentine's from all their little friends. We completely missed the ball on this one! I promise to do something special for the little friends on St. Patty's day ;0

Something else that is new, wanting to feed themselves. I need to be patient and come to terms with the fact that they will get more messy, the floor will get more messy, and supper time will take much longer. BUT it is fun to see them try to feed themselves. They usually hit their mouths and most of the food gets in!

I do all I can to not intervene and try to keep everything clean, although I do man my own spoon and sneak some full bites into their mouths when they least expect it. Izzie is loving the spoons of food flying off their high chairs. Although she needs to watch out for the flying sippy cups... those hurt if they hit you and she knows it!

This past Sunday we took the boys to their FIRST HOCKEY GAME. Our friends have two boys that play so we like to make it to a couple games. We watched Brigs with the Menomonie Mites. The boys took notes on how to score goals, just like Brigs! They sat and watched intently for the first two periods, and then the last period they wanted to move around. They would pound on the glass and clap when everyone else clapped. In the years to come, the boys will be looking up to Brigs and Blais!

I mentioned Valentine's Day and our Anniversary earlier and how we spent it with the boys eating hot dogs, mac and cheese, and spaghetti. Sooooo, we are treating ourselves with a long weekend in Mexico! We leave very early on Thursday morning and will be returning on Sunday night. Long enough to get away for a bit and enjoy the sun and sand, but not too long to miss the boys on our first time away! Hopefully Nana and Debbie take some pictures of and we'll update the blog next week. Otherwise I will have to share some of Mexico...
