On a week I thought there was nothing really to blog about, it turns out we did a lot!
First off let's talk about Aiden being POTTY TRAINED!!!! I don't know how it even happened, he pretty much trained himself but he has been dry since last Wednesday. Two weeks ago I had to run an errand after work so we were in the grocery store and he was doing a potty dance. I wasn't too concerned about it because he was wearing a diaper and we haven't been working on training. Tuesday the daycare said he had stayed dry and was using the potty. Tuesday night was also a huge milestone when he pooped in the potty (very first time) and he has wanted to ever since. Then Thursday they said the same thing, so we tried big boy undies on Friday and he was successful! Same for Saturday and today. Yahoooooo! Now Ashton just needs to get interested. He thinks he gets the jelly beans when his brother goes in the potty. We are on the right track with Ashy, he'll go when we ask him to, he just won't stay dry in between.
One of the nights I went to pick up the boys from Bonnie's they were doing chores. I turned around and saw two brave boys in a sea of chickens.
Yes, that is Ashton grabbing for one. He will pick them up and carry them around.
I think it scares Bonnie a bit just how brave the boys are with them and the chickens don't run away either... I hope one doesn't peck them!
Friday night we went to support the Menomonie Mustang Football Team. They are undefeated in the season and haven't let anyone score on them yet. The boys love watching for Brigs on the sidelines as he is a waterboy. Ashton also watches for all the "tackles". We made it to the third quarter this time before getting too antsy.
After halftime, we had to move a bit closer to the action.
The high school team was great, but on Saturday morning watching Brigs... that was the BEST! These two little boys talk about Brigs and Blais everyday. Part of Aiden going potty in the "big boy potty" is because Brigs and Blais are big boys. ;)
Watching from afar on the sidelines, someday buddy... someday.
Goofing around with their own footballs on the sideline.
It made their day when Blais and his friend played with them for a bit. Blais would kick the ball "way high" and they would run and run to go get the ball.
After the game, we went to McDonalds. The boys continued to surprise me with their bravery. The don't usually play or climb in the play area because they get scared and intimidated, but this day they were monkeys. They climbed all over but stopped short of the "big slides".
I didn't take any pictures, but Saturday afternoon we headed out to Jake's supper club for a fun filled afternoon of music, food and Puppies! We supported the local Humane Society with Aunt Katie and Uncle Nate and Mikayla. The boys loved the "Dance Party" with the band and seeing Debbie and Marcy too!
Saturday night we had a bonfire with our neighbors. Daddy and the boys had to try out a S'more before everyone got there.
Actually they prefer just the chocolate and marshmallows.
I bought some "Got Milk" milk straws for the kidlets. It is a magic straw that flavors the milk to strawberry as they drink it. Yummy. Actually I knew it was the only way to get a still picture of all three of them in the frame ;) It was a beautiful night with some great people, some yummy snacks, and fun conversation!
Gramma and Grampa really found a good one. We read Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site e.v.e.r.y night before going to bed. Tonight Daddy caught us in action. I just about have it memorized and the boys are starting to be able to read it to me! So fun.
Goodnight Dump Truck. Goodnight Excavator. Goodnight Cement Mixer. Goodnight Bulldozer.
Good night Ashton and Aiden!
We are ready for another great week and we have some Fall Festivities planned for the upcoming weekends! I love, love, love Fall - however we don't even want to think about the season that follows Fall.
